Hey Herd,
Back in June, I mentioned that I was trained as an Equus Coach. Equus Coaching is a magical combination of life coaching with horses, and I used to actually facilitate this work… in a time long, long ago… aka pre-pandemic 2019. 😂
Now that the back-to-school blitz feels like it’s calming down (or are we all just acclimating to the faster pace 🤪), I’m contemplating picking this work back up. Or at least some version of it, even if just supporting folks over the phone instead of in the middle of my round pen.
Most of my work at the dance studio is in the “CEO” category… big picture visioning, managing staff, etc. But I recently started teaching a weekly yoga class, and that feeling of helping someone more directly… it’s priceless. Whether it’s a little light bulb moment in a student’s eyes or a “thank you” after class, I realize I’ve been missing that personal feedback.
So I drug up an old gem, a story of one of the learning experiences I had while I was in Equus Coach training back in 2015. It features a beautiful, black horse named Velvet, and I’ll never forget him. 🐴💗
I hope you’ll be able to see what it might be like to be on the receiving end of coaching (if you’ve never hired a coach before). It’s some of the most healing work I’ve ever done. 😊
Here’s the link to read my story. There’s a pic of my fav, Takota, on the cover of the pdf. Enjoy!
And feel free to reply to this email or comment below. I’d love to hear what you think or if you’ve ever had a similar experience.
