Last week, I wrote to you about the concept of minimal muscular effort. I invited you to become a huntress in your own life, to search for where there is over effort. What is taking energy from the system that’s not necessary? Where might you be wasting precious resources?
And then, I asked you to imagine what will be available to you once that energy is freed up.
We’re in the middle of the new moon in Taurus at the moment, so this concept feels like it’s in alignment for so many of us right now. Taurus is all about simplicity, quality, and connection. It has Earth energy vibes. Think security, sensuality, money, possessions.
The new moon is also a good time to set intentions, to do the work of imagining what is possible. So I thought we could turn to the horses for some inspiration.
Like deer, horses are prey animals. They have a keen awareness of what’s happening around them, because their survival depends on being prepared to flee from danger. And in order to be prepared to flee from danger, they have to have the literal, physical energy to run at a moment’s notice. So we can look to horses as master energy conservers.
Minimal muscular effort is part of their nature.
One way horses conserve energy is by sleeping standing up. 😳 It’s much easier to wake up and run, if needed, without having to haul 1,000 pounds of body weight up off the ground first!
But in order to achieve deep, REM sleep, they do have to lay down. In this case, there’s usually another member of the herd who will keep watch while they rest. I very rarely see both my horses laying down at the same time. Even after 10 years of having these big, four-legged beauties in my life, it still has me feeling all the feels when I see them looking out for each other like that. 🥰
And it has me wondering, who’s keeping watch for me while I rest? Who’s willing to step up and help when I need it? How can I take the concept of minimal muscular effort even deeper? To letting go, feeling fully supported.
Imagine what could be possible from that place. Rested, safe, confident that someone has your back. If you’re not there now, how long has it been since you’ve felt that kind of stable foundation in your life? What would it be like if you did?
Are you up for sharing a Taurus new moon intention below? I’d love to contribute to your vision for more connection, simplicity, security (or whatever else feels up for you right now!)
Oof. I want that kind of support SO MUCH. I can’t remember ever feeling it. I read recently in some horoscope piece, likely from Chani Nicholas, that I may only ever feel that supported by and connected to the Divine. A part of me feels this is unfair and another part feels some relief. Permission to stop looking to humans with my impossible expectations.
This new moon, I want to open to encountering this kind of support, and to receive it and recognize it when it comes.
